It was the Ferrari team who dominated in Valencia, but Lewis Hamilton's McLaren engine dominated the wet Jerez track to go top in the overall combined times.😲
The McLaren driver clocked a fastest lap of 1 minute, 19.583 seconds 😍to pip Force India driver Adrian Sutil on the final day.
The four day session in the south of Spain was dominated by rain, with Thursday being the only day featuring a completely dry track.
The final day however allowed drivers to run on heavier fuel loads for longer stints as the morning drizzle dissipated, and this is when 2008 World Champion Lewis Hamilton managed to turn in a hot lap in the closing period of Thursday's final session, one of the final revolutions in his 113 lap session.
McLaren team mate and defending champion Jensen Button was out on the asphalt during first two days, but struggled to get to grips with the MP4-25.😌
He clocked a lap best of 1:20.618, placing the Brit ninthoverall.😆
The results of the Jerez test however, has had little effect on the betting for the 2010 F1 Drivers' outright betting with the top three Fernando Alonso (3/1), Lewis Hamilton (7/2) and Michael Schumacher (4/1) remaining unchanged as the big three in the betting.
Jerez will host next week's test beginning on February 17 for four days, where newbie's Lotus Racing are expected to appear. The US F1 and Campos teams have still given no indication as to whether they will take part in the group tests.
